Teresa Cano hosted a blog party at her booth on Sunday afternoon. All of us junkin' gals showed up and had a really great time. Her booth was also the setting for the book signing for Sue Whitney's new book "JUNK BEAUTIFUL". Of course I just had to have the book. It is really great! Looks like she's been to Fred's World!!

We had this wonderful spread of food and spirits!

We met up with old and new friends. Shelly of Sweet Pea, Elizabeth, Teresa Smith of Time Worn Interiors, and Mindy of Primitiquez 'n Poetry.

Here's Teresa Cano, she had to point out most of us so we would know who all was there.

New Note Card Line

I have created a wonderful line of note cards. They are created from fabulous images and I just love them. I will bring them to Warrenton with me but I don't want to leave them displayed out in the open. If you are there and would like to see them, please ask. I am having them photographed next week so they can be added to our website. I think we are going to need a new web page for "Susan's World" lol! Andy is supporting me in my new venture, but he just doesn't care for all this foo foo stuff! He's my rusty, dusty, wierd stuff guy and I just love him! He's so incredibly talented. Our goal is to soon be able to have the space in our work shop to create some awesome work. Stay tuned....

WEBSITE REPAIRED

OK The website has been repaired and up and running. I'm so sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused. Please contact us if you are interested in visiting "Fred's World". We would love to cater to our customers out there - we would even feed you a steak dinner!

Warrenton is going great! Andy is coming in for a load this weekend. He has some orders to fill. You should come out for the experience - it's so much fun if you love junk! See ya there, Susan

WEBSITE PROBLEMS

I noticed last night that our website is not working. I e-mailed our technician to let her know about the problem. Please, if you are new to our "world" please check back later. I know we need to update the sight and add some items for sale. I promise that will happen soon. I have created some note cards made from antique French post cards. They are really nice and I will add them to the website. I will offer retail and wholesale prices. You may e-mail if you wish. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Susan

WE MADE IT TO WARRENTON!!

LOOKING DOWN THE ROAD AS FAR AS YOU CAN SEE. EVERYONE IS RUNNING AROUND LIKE CRAZY TRYING TO GET THEIR SPACES ALL SET UP. WE PULLED IN ON SUNDAY MORNING AROUND 9:30. THANKS TO ANDY'S UNCLE PAUL FOR HAULING ONE OF OUR TRAILERS FOR US. HE'S BEEN A LIFE SAVER.
AFTER WORKING SO HARD TRYING TO GET SOME SORT OF ORGANIZATION ON MONDAY THE WIND WAS SO BAD WE EVEN HAD TO TEAR DOWN SOME OF OUR DISPLAYS AND GIVE IT UP. ANDY SAID YOU JUST CAN'T FIGHT WITH GOD!! SO WE JUST WALKED AWAY FOR A BREAK AND I RETURNED FOR HOME WITH ONE BIG MESS FOR HIM TO WORK ON.
I RAN TO THE STORE FOR A FEW GROCERIES AND NOTICED THIS TINY CHAPEL THAT I HAVE ALWAYS ADMIRED WAS OPEN. THERE WAS A MAN THERE WORKING ON IT AND HE SAID I COULD TAKE PICTURES.
IT IS SO CUTE! LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE DOLL HOUSE. BOY WOULD MY GRAND-GIRLS HAVE FUN IN THERE!

THE FUN HAS ALREADY BEGUN NOT TO MENTION ALL THE HARD WORK. WE ARE ALWAYS SO GLAD TO SEE ALL OUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS. TERESA SMITH OF
TIME WORN INTERIORS WAS ACTUALLY JUMPING UP AND DOWN SHE WAS SO EXCITED TO FINALLY BE THERE. SO COME ON DOWN AND LOOK US ALL UP. I PROMISE YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME!

HELP!

Oh what do we bring? We are having the hardest time deciding what to pack for Warrenton. We have so much we can't bring it all. Seems like we just walk in and look, get frustrated and leave! What are they buying now? How many do we bring? How will the economy effect our sales? What will the weather do? Do the rest of you feel this way? Are you nervous too?

I wanted to thank everyone for their comments on my grandmothers death. You are all so sweet. I have met so many new great friends through my blog and I love you all! See you all soon. We're Warrenton bound! Susan

SAD NEWS

Hello everyone, Sad around our place this week. My grandmother, Helen Ingram, passed away on Monday March 9th in Lawrence, KS. Andy and I along with my sister Dana, visited her about a month ago. We made a fast trip to see her and I'm so glad we did! She knew us and we treasure our last visit with Grandma. A bittersweet trip. So now we go back again for the hard one. I am looking forward to seeing all my cousins and other family members that I haven't seen in a while. Please pray for our family and safe travels. Oh and thank you for praying for rain because it's pouring right now! God always comes through for us. Susan

Booth check up

I made a quick trip to Comanche this afternoon to check on my booth. I did sell a few things, one being a little table. Naturally things were moved around and I was not prepared with a replacement. Next trip will have to be more thought out and organized. I just "had to" make a quick run through before I left and found some good vintage cake toppers and bridal photos. I'll probably e-bay them as I'm trying not to take any delicate, foo foo stuff to Warrenton. But if you really want me to bring them, just let me know. I took my first sets of note cards/stationary. This is a new endeavor for me and I'm really hoping everyone will like them. I hope to have photos of them along with new sets in the near future. It will have to be after we return from Warrenton. Wow! Makes me tired just thinking about it. Andy and I had a long discussion about our set up last night. We intend to downsize on our tent to allow more room for all that great rusty, crusty, artsy, gears, springs, garden and boy do I mean bargains. We are having a huge $$ sale. Did I say "BARGAINS". We must downsize our inventory. Be sure and come to the Bar W Field in Warrenton. We call it "Porta Potty Row", by the back exit, dirt road. We're next to Renee of A Junk Queen and new this year setting up with her is Donna of Curios Goods. Oh man I really need to get busy! Later, SB

Lovely Luncheon

This especially sweet and talented lady, Anna Wilson, invited Cynthia Weatherby (my boss) and I along with Kathleen Hawkins for lunch today in her home. Incredible!! Of course I immediately asked her if she minded me adding her home to my blog. She and her husband Ralph purchased this older home a few years back and moved to San Saba from New Mexico. She is so incredibly talented. She can do anything, sew, decorate, carpentry, masonry, and the list never ends. Oh, I almost forgot she is a very gifted artist also. She has painted several community landmarks and donated them for auctions and fund raisers. A very civic minded person, we are lucky to have her with us. Here are a few photos of her home.

Her home is a mix of old and new and all things she loves, I loved them too!!!

In this bedroom she recently added the hint of red. It's great!

She opened up the closet and made an alcove. I love the new look it gives the room, it seemed to make the room look larger.

Great old bathtub. You can't see the shower she tiled.

She made an office out of this bedroom's closet.

The dining room was all decorated for spring.

Can you see the tile work on this island. Oh, by the way, she built this island herself!

I think this was my favorite part of her home. Anna told us it to her over 5 days to rebuild this closet. She placed individual pieces of bead board because a sheet would not fit into the space. After adding the shelves it is breathtaking. If you can tell she removed the wooden panels from the door and added glass.

Oh, did I forget to mention how wonderful our meal was! After all, that is why we went. She prepared an eggplant salad, spinach quiche with fresh strawberries and dessert was orange sherbet. What a great time we had and the company was definitely enjoyed! Thank you Anna for a special treat! Your friend, Susan
